Are you the Sensitive Type?

Intimate vulvar skin is thin and very sensitive. It is one of the most sensitive areas on the body. Because of this, care should be taken to only use products that are formulated specifically for ultra-sensitive skin. Anything else can cause unnecessary and sometimes life-interrupting irritation.

A recent article in Skin Inc magazine spoke to ingredients that are not as well-known in skincare, calling them “under the radar” ingredients, for treating sensitive skin. And we are happy to say that many of the ingredients on their list are found in the Ina products, including:

Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Seed oil

“Sea buckthorn oil is derived from a plant that grows at high altitudes in the Himalayas, with a natural ability to resist damage from environmental stressors. Sea buckthorn oil is rich in minerals, including magnesium, potassium, copper and zinc, which improve skin cell functioning. This oil also contains impressive levels of omega-7 and omega-6 fatty acids to lock in moisture and reduce irritation, promoting skin recovery. Sea buckthorn’s anti-inflammatory properties help reduce redness and discomfort associated with rosacea and eczema.”

Sea Buckthorn is one of the 3 ingredients in Ina’s proprietary Ina-V™ Complex, found in every Ina product.

Fermented Ingredients

“The process of fermentation converts an active skin care ingredient into smaller particles that absorb into skin more effectively, which minimizes the risk of skin irritation, redness and breakouts. Fermented ingredients help maintain a stable microbiome on skin’s surface, support skin’s moisture barrier, and soothe sensitive skin.”

Shiunko (Fermented) and Green Tea Seed (Fermented). These two fermented ingredients can be found in Ina’s Nourishing Oil Elixir

Enhanced with the functional elements of Shiunko and Green Tea seed, these fermented oils offer a high level of antioxidant, skin soothing, calming and moisturizing benefits without the greasy feel of regular oils.

The Ina-V™ Complex includes two other ingredients known for their skin benefits:

Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil — contains several antioxidants, including zeatin, quercetin and vitamin A, C and E. This oil is also a very good source of oleic acid, a monosaturated fatty acid that can replenish certain skin lipids and help guard against moisture loss.

Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract — (AKA Gotu Kola, Cica or Tiger Grass) is a tropical plant native to Southeast Asian countries, South Africa and Madagascar. Its skin benefits reportedly include soothing, strengthening, hydrating and antioxidant
